anytime2013w This year we will be supporting the  Anytime Fitness & Lifestyle Expo  surrounding the  Orica Mick Chapman Memorial Criterium . It will take place along the promenade at Honeysuckle by the stunning Newcastle Harbour on Sunday 27th October 2013 Drift Bikes will have a kids demo area setup on the day as well as fielding riders in most criterium categories. The Mick Chapman Memorial Criterium is an annual event developed to perpetuate the memory of local cycling identity Mick Chapman.  While Mick died on the bike in April 2010 and left a gaping hole in the cycling community locally and Australia wide his passion and spirit live through his legacy of talent and inspiration. This event, promoted jointly by Hunter District Cycle Club and local charity  Hunter Prostate Cancer Alliance (HPCA) , seeks not only to perpetuate Mick’s contribution to the cycling community but to also offer dynamic competition at a grass roots level to local cyclists who aspire to build a career within the sport. This event is a celebration of cycling for fun, fitness with the days activities filled with bike racing, bike rides, entertainment, expos and workshops.The event aims to encourage people of all ages and interests to make riding a bike part of their everyday lives, helping build a healthier, more liveable city – good for our people, economy & environment. Over 15,000 people are expected to attend a broad range of events focusing on cycling for commuting, sport and recreation. The event offers attractions for experienced cyclists and, most importantly, people seeking products and solutions that can enable them to take up cycling more often. The  Anytime Fitness & Lifestyle Expo  is about more than just bikes – it’s showcasing active living, fashion, travel, knowledge and more. The expo audience will include families, commuters, club racers, active retirees and people just discovering the benefits of bikes.
