Drift Bikes Workshop FAQ's

Drift Bikes operates on an hourly rate to bring your bike back to life. We provide you with a comprehensive quotation on your bikes needs and will discuss this with you prior to commencing any work. We respect that everyone has a budget and will take the time to explain what needs to be done and work with you to tailor your service to your budget as best as we can. Our promise is that no work will take place without your consent.

We service all makes and models that are supported by an Australian Distributor.

No, you can bring your bike in to Drift Bikes Workshop. However, booking your bike in secures your place in the queue and indicates a foreseeable timeframe for us to complete your repair. 

In this case we would absorb your $49 booking fee whilst still providing you with the comprehensive quotation for your bikes needs.

We service all bicycle related parts including suspension, wheels, dropper posts and more.

Yes, provided the parts are compatible with your bike and comply with Australian Standards.

By making a repair/service booking here your bike will be assessed on the day of your booking. You will receive a comprehensive quotation within 2-3 business days of your booking date. Provided all parts are available and no offsite servicing is required we will complete your repair/service within two business days from when we receive your confirmation to proceed. Where parts or off site servicing is required we will aim to complete your repair withing 2 business days from when parts are received.

Ideally the day before your booking date although we can accept bikes up to 10am the day of your booking. Running late? Just call us and we will work it out.

If you purchased the bike (or part) from Drift Bikes, then no. All warranty claims for are treated with priority. Please drop your bike off to workshop and allow 3 working days for an update.

If you didn’t purchase the bike (or part that is fitted to the bike) from Drift Bikes, you will need to make a booking and provide your proof of purchase when dropping off the bike. 

If you have purchased the bike (or part) from Drift Bikes there are no upfront costs to lodging a claim provided the item is within its warranty period. There may be costs involved if your claim is rejected and you wish us to resolve it however, in the event of this occurring, we would still quote you prior to proceeding with any work. 

If you haven’t purchased the bike (or part) from Drift Bikes, your warranty claim is treated the same as a repair booking. Our cost to pursue a warranty claim is $50. This covers our time to communicate with the supplier to reach an outcome. There may be additional costs depending on the outcome of your claim however, in the event of this occurring, we would still quote you prior to proceeding with any work.

It is the supplier that determines the outcome of a warranty claim. We pursue all warranty claims by answering the questions asked by the supplier. We act as an intermediary with our key intention being to get you back on your bike as quickly as possible by working with the support given to us by the supplier.

Be honest. The more information we can give the supplier the quicker they can offer a solution. Withholding information with respect to hacking your bike only leads to a more awkward conversation down the line. 

Yes. We provide all customers with a $50 Labour Credit Card when purchasing a bike valued at over $500. You can present your bike to Drift Bikes Workshop within 30 days of purchase with no booking required and receive a comprehensive checkover and suspension pressure check. Alternatively you can keep your $50 Labour Credit Card beyond 30 days and use it towards any future service.

An absolute minimum would be annually. Regular riding of 2 hours or more per week we would recommend booking your bike in every 3-4 months. A regular service plan more often than not costs less than an annual overhaul and spreads the expense out.

We strongly recommend booking your bike in whenever you feel it is doing something irregular or making abnormal noises. Often a very simple adjustment can alleviate the need for an expensive repair if left unattended.

Our goal is to get you back on your bike as soon as possible. Understanding a bikes condition, its requirements and the availability of parts does take time on top of the actual service itself. The simpler the repair and the quicker you come back to us on any communication, the quicker we can get you back on your bike.
