Always the best time of year when the new stuff starts rolling in on a weekly basis. Last week it was the tarmac SL3 Expert, and this week we now have on the floor the Stumpjumper FSR Expert Carbon.
This bike, without pedals, weighs exactly 12.0 kilos.
12 KILOS. That's almost as light as my tub of home made soup that prevents me from eating Paul Harrigan endorsed subway footlongs.
Sporting a Carbon Mainframe with BB30 bottom Bracket, an aluminium swingarm, and best of all, not just a fox rear shock, but the added benefit of the inertia valve "brain" technology.
Up front you score a Fox Talas front fork, meaning turnkey adjustment between 110 and 140mm of rear wheel travel.
Drivetrain and brakes are from SRAM/AVID with none other than an XO 10speed rear derailleur out back keeping everything snappy.
Wheelset is Specialized own Roval Control Trail with the now upgraded hub face diameter, increasing stiffness whilst still keeping with the ever so simple front QR system.
The Expert Carbon even comes with S Works tyres and Body Geometry Henge Saddle with Hollow CroMo Rails for that little bit of extra value.
And how do we bench mark this value you may ask....
Well that's easy. Sweet Grandmothers spatula serves this up at $5,999
id go as far as a can of halfway to say that is damn good.

The bike overall rips. Climbs with ease and descends like a beast. A bit in the heavier side but I cant really notice it when riding. The rear Assegai is pretty sluggish while climbing or rolling on flat surfaces but again, it is hardly noticeable.
Product exactly as described which was great as there was an older version of the exact same helmet that did not come with a visor. The newer models did include visor. The items were posted the next day and arrived very quickly. Thank you
