As far as demo Days go, this has to have been one of our best! Why? Because so many things added up to make the entire day a memorable experience. Firstly the weather was on point, secondly we had a great turn out of eager riders and above all there were no injuries and not a single flat tyre!
Santa Cruz Australia came to the party with a killer line up of bikes and they even managed to commandeer Cedric Gracia’s pre production High Tower 29’er in time for the day.
Whilst the High Tower was in demand, the bike that seemed to get the biggest and best impression from riders was the Santa Cruz 5010. With 650b wheels, 130mm of travel and a completely revised frame and geometry from 2015, this bike was “spot on Rodney” for the Glenrock Trails.
The best part about the day was talking to the people and hearing how their understanding had changed with respect to everything from wheel size to suspension.
But perhaps the best part about the day as always, is after 6 hours of wrenching on bikes and listening to everyone else’s experiences, is getting to ride your chosen bike for the day and give it everything around Glenrock. Josh rode the new High Tower, Jack rode the Nomad and I scored the 5010 for a full lap of the rock.
Stoked as ever.
