WHAT IS BG FIT?

BG FIT (Body Geometry Fit Integration Technology) is a comprehensive bicycle fit philosophy created to help cyclists ride faster, longer and in greater comfort, while reducing the chance of injury. With this system we spend less time experimenting with what might work and more time applying solutions. This delivers better results for you and ultimately your riding experience. The BG FIT process enables us to custom fit your bicycle to your natural anatomy, NOT the other way around.

BG FIT has been developed after years of working with Dr. Andy Pruitt Ed.D., PA of the Boulder Center for Sports Medicine and found only at your local Specialized dealer.

WHERE CAN YOU GET A BG FIT ?

DRIFT BIKES KOTARA is the only Authorised BG FIT studio in Newcastle and the Hunter Valley. We are also the only BG FIT studio in NSW to provide video analysis with the BG DATA video capture system.  The video analysis process lets you see changes to your position in real time.

We have a dedicated BG FIT studio in store. This allows our qualified BG FIT Technician to give you a more personalised service in quiet privacy, away from the distractions of the busy store.

What is BG DATA?

The BG DATA (Dual Angle Technical Analysis) System brings a greater level of analysis and accuracy to our already distinguished fitting services. The Advanced DATA System employs two video cameras and a proprietary software suite to record the rider in motion and help a trained fitter analyze their position under realistic efforts. The Advanced DATA System’s side and frontal profile analysis show the rider the changes in near real time.  Proper rider positioning, knee tracking, back and neck profile and frontal area can all be analyzed with the DATA System.  Now you don’t have to take the fitter’s word for it – you can see and feel the difference for yourself!  When the fitting is complete you will receive a full report and videos of your starting and finishing position.

DRIFT BIKES is the only store in NSW to offer BG DATA along with the BG FIT service.

Who can be fit?
BG FIT is suitable for any age and level rider wishing to maximise riding comfort, efficiency and performance. The Pre-Fit interview takes into account your riding pattern and style and accommodates any preferences you may have.

I’m just a weekend rider, is BG FIT just for pros?
It’s not just pro’s that seek maximum performance or efficiency. Any rider, novice, intermediate or pro will benefit from BG Fit, whether it’s to achieve a personal best or maximise comfort on your daily commute.

I’m a woman, is BG FIT just for men?
BG FIT is designed for both mens and womens anatomies. Specialized offer women’s specific parts including saddles, handlebars, shoes and gloves, ensuring an optimal fit between you and your bicycle.

I’m a Mountain Biker, will BG FIT help me?
YES! BG FIT is important across all types of cycling, whether it be mountain biking, road riding or recreational cycleway/ path related cycling.

What is different from other fit processes?
The BG FIT is scientifically designed, medically proven and developed by leading sports medicine practitioner, Dr. Andy Pruitt Ed.D., PA of the Boulder Center for Sports Medicine, USA. DRIFT BIKES certified fitters have passed stringent Specialized training in Australia and Morgan Hill, CA USA to use the data from the fitting process to carefully select from a wide range of Specialized accessories, the most appropriate size, shape, width to accommodate your body geometry.

Can you fit on other brand bikes besides Specialized?
YES! Any brand or type of bicycle can benefit from the BG FIT process.

Is there a follow up meeting to check how my BG FIT is working for me?

Yes. Our BG FIT Technician will schedule a follow up appointment to discuss any further changes or adjustments needed to fine tune your fit. This is designed to let your body settle into the new adjustments mad to allow us to make sure you have the perfect fit possible.

Can I buy BG products with out getting a BG FIT?

DRIFT BIKES offers the entire range of Specialized BG Fit components in store and any of our staff can help you select the correct product for your needs. However, in order to see the full benefits of all of these products you can’t go past getting a BG FIT.
